All Things Southern

Welcome to the South's favorite front porch.

Friends,

After a lot of thought, I've come to the conclusion that I am just not doing this network justice, not all all. I have a finger in one too many pies with the social media thing. That upsets me. But I don't like to stay upset without taking action So, here goes some action...

Our Ning is just one too many balls for me to keep up in the air. I'd like to invite each of you to join me on facebook and twitter and/or on my blog. I'm going to leave it up a while in the hope that everyone finds this message, but after that I'll remove the link. I remain as willing and eager to interact with y'all through the other portals, but I think this experiment was too much and I'm not too proud to admit it. Pride, remember, goes before the fall. :)))) See you on facebook, email, twitter, and my blog!

Hugs,
Shellie

I have to say that I am in complete agreement with you. But for a different reason. Ning is not driving new people to their site. As publishers, it is our job to provide interesting content and conversation, not drive traffic to Ning! Ning is a wonderful idea whose time has come. The idea of setting up blogs like cyber "chatting over the fence" is good and unique! It is my hope that someone at Ning will figure out that they need to promote themselves and the wonderful communities that have come to life there! But until that time, it is a waste of our limited resources to work so hard for them when there are other social network channels that are driving millions of people over every day.
